Modern Slavery Statement for Removals Uxbridge
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Removals Uxbridge has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. Removals Uxbridge recognises its responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards and to conduct business with integrity, transparency and respect for human rights.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removals Uxbridge provides household and commercial removals, storage, and associated logistics services. Our operations involve direct employees, agency workers, subcontracted drivers and labour, vehicle and equipment suppliers, and providers of packaging materials and facility services. We understand that the logistics and removals sector can be exposed to risks of labour exploitation, particularly in relation to temporary labour and subcontracting, and we actively work to identify and mitigate these risks.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Removals Uxbridge operates a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, servitude, child labour and human trafficking. We are committed to ensuring that no such practices occur in any part of our business or in any of our supply chains. This commitment is endorsed by senior management and is integrated into our decision-making, procurement processes and day-to-day operations.
We expect the same high standards from all who work with us or on our behalf. Any individual or organisation found to be involved in modern slavery or human trafficking, or in serious breach of our standards on labour and human rights, will face immediate investigation and, where appropriate, termination of our working relationship.
Supplier Standards and Audits
All new suppliers and subcontractors are assessed against our ethical sourcing and labour standards before we enter into a commercial relationship. We communicate our zero-tolerance policy and require suppliers to confirm that they comply with all applicable laws relating to employment, working conditions and modern slavery.
Removals Uxbridge carries out risk-based audits of suppliers and subcontractors, focusing on those operating in higher-risk sectors or involving lower-skilled or temporary labour. These audits may include document checks, site visits, worker interviews and a review of recruitment practices, wage records, working hours and accommodation where applicable.
Where non-compliance or areas for improvement are identified, we work with suppliers to implement corrective action plans within clearly defined timeframes. Continued non-compliance or refusal to address identified issues may result in the suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Employee Awareness and Reporting Channels
We promote a culture in which employees, workers and contractors feel able and supported to raise concerns about potential wrongdoing, including any suspicion of modern slavery or human trafficking. All staff are made aware of the signs of labour exploitation and their responsibility to speak up if they see or suspect anything of concern.
Reports can be made confidentially through our internal reporting channels or directly to management. We investigate all reports promptly, impartially and sensitively. No one raising a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
If an instance of modern slavery is identified or suspected, we will take appropriate steps to protect affected individuals, work with competent authorities where required, and review our processes to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Removals Uxbridge recognises that the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking evolve over time. We are committed to continuous improvement in our policies, training and due diligence processes to strengthen our ability to prevent, identify and address these risks.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management. As part of this review, we assess the effectiveness of our actions, including the outcomes of supplier audits, any reported concerns, training delivered and changes in legislation or industry best practice. Where opportunities for enhancement are identified, we update our policies, procedures and training accordingly.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Removals Uxbridge and represents our ongoing commitment to ethical business conduct, respect for human rights and the eradication of modern slavery in all its forms.
